Healthy Chicken Gyros- Healthy version of traditional Gyro that's low fat but full of flavor. Greek seasoned chicken, wrapped in a whole wheat pita pocket & topped with Homemade Tzatziki Sauce. Great for a quick weeknight meal or for week day lunches! Weight Watcher friendly (6 SmartPoints)!

Healthy Chicken Gyros

Healthy Chicken Gyros are the perfect meal when you are craving Greek food.  Greek seasoned chicken, wrapped in a whole wheat pita pocket and topped with have all the delicious flavors of traditional Gyros without all the guilt!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Pounds Boneless Chicken Breast
  • Juice of Half a Lemon
  • 4 Sprays Non-fat Butter Spray
  • 6 Whole Wheat Pita Pockets (I prefer Brownberry Pocket Thins Flatbread)
  • Green Leaf Lettuce
  • Roma Tomatoes
  • 1 Cup Homemade Tzatziki Sauce 

Greek Seasoning Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Dried Dill
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Onion Flakes
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Parsley
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Rosemary
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Thyme

Instructions
 

  • Mix ingredients for Greek seasoning in a bowl.
  • Coat chicken in seasons and follow cooking instructions for Oven Roasted Chicken Breast.
  • Once chicken is cooked, slice chicken into thin strips.

To assemble pita:

  • Slice tomato into thin slices.
  • Lay lettuce on flat surface and place chicken and tomato into center of lettuce.
  • Grab lettuce and fold like a sandwich.
  • Gently push folded lettuce into the pocket of the pita pocket.
  • Drizzle with Homemade Tzatziki Sauce and sprinkle with feta cheese.
