Honey Dijon Vinaigrette salad dressing

What if I told you that you could make delicious, homemade salad dressing in 5 minutes?!  Salad dressing made without any preservatives made with ingredients you already have in your pantry!  My 5 Minute Honey Dijon Vinaigrette is tangy, sweet, and super easy to make.  Minced shallot, olive oil, red wine vinegar, honey, and Dijon mustard mixed in a jar is the perfect addiction to any salad.  This is a Weight Watchers friendly recipe and each serving is 3 SmartPoints.

Someone recently asked me what my current obsession is in the kitchen.  My answer was “to make my own salsa and dressing”!  For years, I bought jarred salsa and salad dressing not knowing that I could actually make it myself.  Every time I would buy a new jar, I was always excited to try it, but shocked by all the ingredients that are used in the product.  Now that I understand food a bit more, I just make my own salsa and salad dressing.  Fresh ingredients and without preservatives!

Don’t get me wrong, if I find a jarred salad dressing that is 100% natural, without any preservatives, I’ll definitely buy it to try!  But sometimes I want a salad and don’t have any pre-made dressing in my refrigerator.  That’s when I turn to my 5 Minute Honey Dijon Vinaigrette.  All you need are 7 ingredients, most of which you already have, and a jar with a lid!

The title of this recipe says it all… it takes 5 minutes!  In just 5 minutes, you can make delicious, fresh, preservative free salad dressing!!  To start, mince shallot and add to a jar that has a lid.

Chopped red onions in a jar

Add extra virgin olive oil.
